Pennies Mark Cross is now, officially a Green Flag nursery having won the nationally judged environmental Eco-Schools Green Flag award. The national scheme gives recognition designed to “acknowledge, reward and celebrate the ecological achievements of young people.” We were able to fly our green flag for the first time at Crowfest in Crowborough on 16 July.
We’re pleased with the massive efforts put in by Victoria and her team at Mark Cross and especially proud of the contributions made by our young and dedicated eco-committee members and all the children at Mark Cross who have helped us recycle, grow flowers and vegetables, fed the birds and insects and shown so much love for nature that we were able to gain a Green Flag award at the first attempt.
