Pennies has an exciting announcement to make! We are absolutely thrilled and delighted to share that all three of our early years settings have been honoured with the prestigious Eco-Schools Green Flag in 2023.
This achievement marks a significant milestone for us, as it demonstrates our unwavering commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. Last year, in 2022, we took the first step towards this accomplishment when our Mark Cross location successfully attained a Green Flag Award. The valuable experience gained from that endeavour has played a pivotal role in guiding us towards achieving this remarkable recognition across all of our nurseries this year.
The Eco-Schools Green Flags serve as an annual accreditation scheme, designed to acknowledge educational institutions that excel in delivering comprehensive sustainability education and environmental awareness. To earn this esteemed award, our centres diligently established eco-committees, conducted thorough environmental reviews, and meticulously selected a diverse range of topics to incorporate into our curriculum.
We take immense pride in the hard work and dedication showcased by our front-line staff. Their commitment to ensuring our centres not only met but exceeded the rigorous standards for the Eco-Schools Green Flag is truly commendable, especially considering the challenging times the childcare sector has faced.
