There was a time when learning journals were treasured - if somewhat tattered - documenents. That's documents in the old sense of being printed on paper and often ring-bound or placed in a scrap book. For a few years now Pennies has been using an online version of the same document. Specifically the version offered as a "Tapestry online learning journal." This has become the standard means of recording the lives of the children in our care at Hockers Lane and Newnham Court, and will very soon become the approach used at Mark Cross. From our point-of-view the chance to record things in the moment and load them up as we go allows an instant capturing of key moments and a more accurate record than those we used to create in time-consuming attempts to think back over a day and remember what had happened. We care about what our customers think and that is why we are drawing this to your attention via the blog. We hope you see our reasoning but we are always happy to discuss your views or explain things in more detail.
