Pennies’ Staff

Pennies has always been more than a nursery, and more than a place of work. The most important thing you should know if you intend on joining the Pennies family is that Pennies’ staff are regularly involved in the most amazing things as part of their work. We care for children, but a typical year with us could see you taking part in massive charity events, developing your own particular talents and getting out and about with the children. In terms of talents our staff have – amongst many other things – shown their skills in face-painting, photography, event management and media work.

The Pennies Team offer dedication to quality care and education. We provide enthusiasm and a genuine love of young children. Our team are professionally qualified, we aim for 100% of staff with national qualifications, (national targets for the sector are currently 50%). We offer in-service training opportunities to all staff, encouraging those with the ambition to qualify as managers. Many staff are qualified in food hygiene, paediatric first aid and child protection. The level of qualifications held by our room supervisors is well above national standards and the national average for the sector.

Pennies has also made efforts to recruit a range of staff including male staff and mature nursery practitioners to provide our children with a range of role models. The range of abilities offered by our staff allows us to be innovative in our offer of activities in our childcare and clubs.
