To Join the Pennies Team:

• Ideally we want staff with level 3 qualifications such as NNEB, CACHE or BTEC  awards.
• Trainees are welcome with an interest in reaching level 3, though places are always limited.
• We expect all nursery staff to hold first aid certificates.
• Preference is given to applicants who demonstrate a clear commitment to their future professional development.

In general for a Junior Nursery Nurse position experience is not necessary, common sense and commitment to developing expertise are essential. Senior nursery nurses should have 1-2 years experience, have a working knowledge of birth to five and planning and be prepared to attend 2 meetings a month.

• Senior Nursery Nurses should have 1 to 2 years experience within a nursery setting, good knowledge of the Birth to five sector and planning. Senior staff should be able to lead a small team, work under Pressure, be able to support the Head of Unit and fill in during their absence. You will be expected to attend two meetings a month.
• Head of Unit staff should have senior experience, Good knowledge of Birth to five and good planning skills. Heads of unit should be able to lead and manage a team, to monitor the teams observations etc.
• Managers should have had at least 2 years experience in this position, Good management skills are essential in this role that may involve leading a team of 40. Managers work to flexible work times and work on Nursery floor if required. Managers also work closely with the financial team, kitchen staff and Office Manager.
