Our new garden at Newnham Court is now complete with artificial play turf and our very own luxury hand built sandpit.  We are really pleased with the overhaul and the children are delighted with their new play area.

It's the very best in fun, and even more fun with PKC's February Holiday Club as the local school holidays allow us to offer one day more than usual.  We open up on FRIDAY 15TH FEBRUARY with a Valentine's party before a week of top treats including a work out at Heavenly Fitness Studio in Maidstone, a trip to Dickens World, Bowling in Tunbridge Wells, a Pamper and Threads treat and a Spellbinding Harry Potter day.

Christmas Should be Fun!!

And Christmas is always fun at Pennies' Holiday Club, with this year being no exception. We're offering our usual combination of relaxation and full-on excitement with our Duvet Day (24 December) being the most relaxed with its combination of DVDs and hot chocolate and our trip to Cinderella at Chatham's Central Theatre (2 Jan) being one of the most exciting. Staff from Pennies Day Nursery, Newnham Court, were presented with the Kent Quality Kitemark (KQM) at the Ashford International Hotel on 5th November.  The KQM is a quality Assurance scheme obliging awardees to produce evidence of quality work and committment to ongoing improvement.  Pennies' manager Michaela Muller said "This was a team effort and all our staff were involved.  We had to prove committment to change, especially within transition for children from one stage of education to another".

Both Newnham Court and Hockers Lane Nurseries have been awarded the Kent Quality Kitemark.  Well done to all the staff involved for their hard work.

PKC Senior Play Worker Required

Are you looking for a new challenge?  The senior play worker is a position that offers variety!  You will lead the Holiday Club team and will initiate and support fresh and exciting ideas.  You will also spend time through your working week marketing the club to the public to ensure a high occupancy.

Pennies will be taking part in the Baby and Toddler Show at the Kent Showground, Detling from 10-00 am to 4-00 pm on Sunday 20th May. The event promises some great fun and surprises. We are excited because we have a place near the stage so we won’t miss any of the performances and we’re offering all stand visitors the chance to win a sit-in toy car, worth over £100, simply by entering our free prize draw. We are taking bookings for our summer Holiday Club; offering the usual fun, activities, learning and chance to meet your friends. This year we have trips, themed days and special events to keep kids from 5 to 11 entertained throughout the school holidays. Trips already scheduled include days out at Chatham Dockyard and Whitstable, one day is devoted to Pennies’ own Olympics and themed days will allow kids to go camping, learn magic tricks and make a music video. There’s something for everyone and all of it is sure to be fun. Kids can book in for as a many, or as few, days as they like (minimum booking half a day), and all places are available on a first come, first served basis. At Pennies Newnham Court we are really excited about the forthcoming open day on 10 March. This event runs from 11am to 3pm and marks the first full open day since the start of Pennies Nannies. We are offering our usual mix of show rounds of the facilities, toys and games for children and refreshments for everyone. In addition to information on our nursery work this is also a chance to get details of the nannying services started in the last few months and – for those families seeking nannies – a chance to meet people involved across the range of Pennies childcare work. We will be well staffed for the event, with managers able to discuss a wide range of issues and staff from specific rooms able to answer all your questions on day to day routines, and the particular care offered in each room. Above all, this should be the usual mixture of informative chat, answering of questions and fun and games that have marked our open days for years. Whatever your interest or involvement in our work we would be really glad to see you. If you want to book a show round or ask a particular question this can be done on the day, or planned in advance if you phone or email us. Pennies Hockers Lane currently has its next open day scheduled for 22 September, but we can take questions and discuss both sites with you at Newnham Court on 10 March.
