Pennies Charity Fundraising
We maintain links with several charities. Fundraising and participation in charity events are a regular feature of each year. Pennies is particularly close to the Heart of Kent Hospice in Maidstone. Our founder, Penny Scotton, was a patient at the hospice before her death in 2000. The care and commitment shown by the hospice in looking after Penny is typical of the selfless work they do every day. Our annual summer fete raises funds for the Heart of Kent Hospice and other events have also been organised to contribute to their fund raising.
Particular features of charity fundraising include:
- Track record of active support and fundraising for a range of charities including CLIC Sargent, Jeans for Genes and British Heart Foundation and Barnardo’s annual Toddle Waddle.
- Participation in specific days and major events.
- Track record of ongoing support and help on a regular basis for local charities.
- Work with parents of Pennies children to help with specific charity projects.
- Inclusion of children in our care in charity activities and mixing awareness of charity work with fun for children.
