Charity

We maintain links with several charities. Fundraising and participation in charity events are a regular feature of each year. Pennies is particularly close to the Heart of Kent Hospice in Maidstone. Our founder, Penny Scotton, was a patient at the hospice before her death in 2000. The care and commitment shown by the hospice in looking after Penny is typical of the selfless work they do every day. Our annual summer fete raises funds for the Heart of Kent Hospice and other events have also been organised to contribute to their fund raising.

Other national and local charities have also been supported with particular events, or fund raising activities within the nurseries. Charities supported by Pennies include CLIC Sargent (Carers for children with cancer and their families), Jeans for Genes and the annual Children in Need appeal.
